Flume terms of service
Effective
These terms cover your use of Flume, a download manager for the Mac made by seqavo, including its browser extension. By installing or using Flume you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
What Flume is
Flume downloads files from the web to your Mac, taking over downloads from your browser and fetching them over several connections at once. It also saves video from sites that offer it. Flume does not host, mirror or provide any of the files it downloads; they come from the sites you choose.
The app is free to use.
Licence
seqavo grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Flume on Macs you own or control, for personal or business use. You may not sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app, remove its notices, or use it to build a competing product.
You may not modify, decompile or reverse engineer the app, except where the law or a bundled component’s own licence allows it.
Flume ships with open-source components, including yt-dlp, FFmpeg, Python, QuickJS, Sparkle, Lucide icons and a number of Rust libraries, each under its own licence. The full list is in the About Flume window, and its Licence texts button shows each licence. Those licences, not these terms, govern those components.
Versions of Flume up to 1.26.0 were released under the GNU GPL version 3, and that licence still applies to those versions.
Your downloads are your responsibility
Flume fetches what you point it at. You are responsible for having the right to download and keep each file, and for following the terms of the site it comes from. Many video sites forbid downloading in their terms; whether and how you use Flume on them is your decision, and seqavo accepts no responsibility for it.
Do not use Flume to obtain material that infringes someone’s copyright, to circumvent access controls, or to break the law where you are.
Privacy
How Flume handles your data is set out in the privacy policy at https://seqavo.com/flume/privacy-policy. In short, Flume talks to the sites you download from and checks for updates, and seqavo receives nothing unless you send a problem report.
Updates and availability
Flume checks for new versions and asks before installing one, unless you choose automatic updates. New versions may add, change or remove features, including which sites video downloads work with, since those sites change without notice. We may stop developing or distributing the app at any time. A version you already have keeps working until something it depends on changes.
No warranty
Flume is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. seqavo does not promise that downloads will succeed, that files will be complete or correct, that any particular site will keep working, or that the app will be free of errors.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, seqavo is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, Flume. That includes lost or corrupted files, data charges, and consequential or indirect loss. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.
Ending
You can stop using Flume at any time by deleting the app and removing the extension from your browser. seqavo may end your licence if you breach these terms. The sections on licence, responsibility for downloads, warranty and liability survive.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top shows when the current wording took effect. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
